Local 340's business agents joined a packed hall of labor advocates to testify in public hearings against a collection of anti-union and anti-worker bills in the state legislature.
"Public sector workers are just asking for a level playing field." Business Agent Traci Place spoke in favor of bills authorizing public employees to strike and engage in binding arbitration on wages and benefits. Joe Piccone, Ray Cote and Ed Marzano also testified on these bills.
"We will stand fishing boot to work boot to high heel with our union brothers and sisters against these attacks on our rights." - Julie Eaton, Maine Lobstering Union, Stonington.
Ray was a 38-year member of the Teamsters and a lifelong Republican. He asked Committee members to oppose these attacks on working people.
